Tristam Island

New Text Adventure – Tristam Island

If you are a fan of the original text adventures, and who isn’t, then you have to give this new game a try. Hugo Labrande has recently posted a demo for 33 different platforms, including Atari 8bit, Atari ST, Commodore, Amiga, Apple //, and more! He shared a demo of the game that he has in development, and it brought back a flood of memories of playing the old Infocom games of my childhood like the Zork (1977) series and early Sierra Online titles like Mystery House (1980).

The game starts after you have crashed your small plane in the Atlantic ocean and parachuted on an island. Hugo tells us the start of the adventure, “After crashing your plane at sea, you end up drifting to a small island, with not much to survive. You explore, and find out the island was inhabited, years ago. But why did the people leave? And why is there a fence around the white house at the top of the hill?” From there, you must figure out how to survive on this, supposedly, deserted island in the middle of nowhere!

If you would like to check out the playable demo, and I highly recommend it, take a look at Hugo’s page on itch.io, where you can read more about the game and pre-order your own very copy for $4! Tristam Island

Please help support this independent developer and encourage him to write more titles.
